The second phase of redevelopment at the Fox Valley mall in Aurora, IL is progressing quickly. The second phase will bring an additional 323 apartment homes with their own dedicated amenities including a pool deck and resident lounge.
Construction of the 486,184 GSF building is happening in phases, and now that the parking structure has been erected, teams are working on different portions of the building by phase. In the above video, teams are busy framing the second and third floors of the first phase of units while teams also set the steel beams which support the third and fourth floors of the building lobby.
Additionally, teams can be seen pouring the the slab on grade concrete deck for the second phase of units. Once the concrete has cured, teams will be busy constructing the concrete masonry unit (CMU) stair tower for the second portion of the building. Simultaneously teams will then be installing windows in the first phase while they begin the same concrete slab work for the third phase of construction.
